How to Protect your Flash/USB drive from AUTORUN.INF malwares

by admin on Feb.21, 2010, under Office Tips and Tools, Technology Update, Virus tips

Autorun.inf malwares have been around for sometime now and it has been creating a lot of inconvenience to users like me. Lately, I was told it’s very easy to prevent this malware from propagating like wildfire. I wish I had known this a long time ago but anyways, I’m sharing it here for all you guys out there who are tired of cleaning and sometimes reformatting your computers because of these malwares.

It’s really as simple as creating a folder named autorun.inf in the root of your Flash/USB drive. This should also be done on your Drive C, D, etc as most Autorun malwares automatically put the Autorun.inf file in the root of your Harddrives so that when you open the drive from your “My Computer”, it automatically launches the virus, creating more damage to your computer and your flashdrives.

Here is a step by step info on how to create the Autorun.inf folder in your Drives. This is best done from your MS-DOS / Command prompt.
1. Make sure your drive does not have the autorun.inf file already, otherwise, check the file to see if it is running valid programs. Normally, Autorun.inf files in Flash drives are used to launch the Encrypting program of your flash drive (if it came with it). Otherwise, you might as well delete it.
2. Go to START, RUN, then type CMD (for XP, VISTA, 7) or COMMAND for (Windows 98). Check the location of your drive where you want to create the Autorun.inf folder from your My Computer.
3. On the Command prompt, type the following:
c:\>e: –> to go to Drive E if this is your Flash drive
e:\>mkdir autorun.inf –> this creates the Autorun.inf folder
e:\>attrib +s +h +r autorun.inf –> this makes the autorun.inf folder protected from being overwritten by malwares.

Do the steps above to your Harddrive root to protect them from being infected by autorun malwares.

Mr. Bean Malware - command.exe, csrss.exe

by admin on Jan.18, 2010, under Office Tips and Tools, Virus tips

My windows account suddenly changed it’s password!
I can’t login to my computer, I don’t know the password!
Can’t remember my password, can’t remember if I changed it! I remember trying to open Mr. bean AVI but nothing happened..
There’s a funny mr. bean AVI in my flash drive, I don’t remember putting it there??
Mr. bean AVI in my Program menu in windows….

Sounds familiar? You may have been infected with the Mr. bean trojan/malware or commonly called the csrss.exe / command.exe malware.

If you don’t remember putting a password or changing your windows password but you suddenly can’t login, try space ” ” (without the quotes.

Once you have been able to login, try going to your START menu and check for a Mr. Bean AVI in your Programs or Recently opened items. If you don’t find any, it’s still hiding somewhere else. Here are some things you can do to try and remove this pesky malware.
1. DONT try to open the Mr. Bean AVI file since this is a .exe file posing as an innocent video file.
2. While you still can, download or get a copy of the HijackThis program from Trendmicro.com or download it from download.cnet.com.
3. Follow the instructions on how to install the program, or if you can’t read, just run it.. :P
4. Once you have installed HijackThis, open it from your Desktop or START menu.
5. Click on Open the Misc Tools Section and under “System Tools”, click on the “Open Process Manager” button.
6. Look for Command.exe from the list and if you find it, select it and click on the “Kill Process” button.
7. Also look for CSRSS.exe. This is a normal Windows system file however it should only be located under WINDOWS\SYSTEM32. Other than this location, it should be killed and deleted. Leave the one in WINDOWS\SYSTEM32
8. Once you are sure you have killed both processes, click on the “Main Menu” button to go back to the main menu (of course).
9. On the Main Menu, click on any of the “Do a system scan..” buttons to run a check on the Start up programs of your Windows.
10. Look for an entry of CSRSS.exe usually alongside the UserInit entry: UserInit=C:windowssystem32userinit.exe c:windowscsrss.exe
11. Select this line and click on the Fix Checked button.
12. Now it’s time to search your entire drive/s for any remnants of the command.exe, csrss.exe and mr. bean AVI. You can do this from the command prompt however you will need some knowledge on ATTRIB and basic DOS commands such as DEL and DIR.
13. Let’s start with your Drive C:
Click on START, RUN then type CMD
-to go to the root of Drive C, type cd
C:\>documents and settingsmy foldermy documents>cd
c:\>dir /ah —–this searches for hidden files
-if you find command.exe and mr. bean AVI
c:\>attrib -s -h -r command.exe —this will unhide and unprotect the hidden malware
c:del command.exe —-guess what.. it deletes the file.. :P
-do the same for mr.bean AVI
-tip, if you find it hard to type in the very long file name, try pressing the TAB button after typing in the first few characters of the filename, you’ll be surprised how easy it is to type long filenames..
- if you have a flash drive, do the same procedure of finding and deleting the same files above.

That’s all for now folks!! Hope this helps

Here this people, the first water-powered car was invented back in 1807 by Francois Isaac de Rivaz of Switzerland.. Wow! and I wonder why we’re still drowning on sky-rocketed gas prices when we could have unlimited/renewable fuel using only water. You can check out the history of the automobile from http://inventors.about.com/library/weekly/aacarsgasa.htm
Let’s make this work guys!

Water for fuel, is it really the answer?

by admin on Feb.13, 2009, under Energy, Fuel, H2O Car, HHO, HHO Gas, Infinite Energy, Renewable Energy, Water as Fuel, Water for Fuel, Waterfuel

During this times of crisis, we really need a revolutionary, alternative source of energy that is renewable and environmentally friendly. I’ve done some research on google and youtube and found one that has really struck my curiosity and scientific interest.

Water for fuel… yes you heard it right. However let’s not take this philosophically. Some people would think, how do you burn water??. Well we really do not burn the water to become fuel. Basically what is being done is to split the water into hydrogen and oxygen (or what they clain is hydrogen+hydrogen+oxygen or HHO) through an age old process called electrolysis and then use the gas (HHO) as the fuel. As we all know hydrogen is an explosive gas and oxygen is flammable… or both.. whatever. The bottomline is, the gas is what is being produced from water to be used as our energy source.

The real innovation here is not the electrolysis part itself (although it is really the main concept) but the way or method it is being implemented. Using conventional electrolysis, we use a very large amount of electric current to split the hydrogen and oxygen from water. However with the recent developments in electronics, inventors such as Stan Meyers, Daniel Dingel, and several other inventors out there has developed ways to generate/split water into HHO using only minimal electric current. The one similar thing about their processes is that they have a way of producing more HHO using their own patented methodologies. My own thoughts is that the technology behind this has been around for so many decades and it has yet to be fully harnessed if only our politics of global economy would allow it.

Behind the scenes, there has been so many attempts by several individuals to market this in the global economy but has failed due to unknown (or obvious..) reasons. One of them is our fellow Filipino, Daniel Dingel ( http://danieldingel.com/ ), who has developed his own way of generating HHO gas and using this to power his own and several other cars in his farm. He has been around poking with his HHO gadgets for almost 5 decades now, almost the same time as Stan Meyer ( http://www.waterpoweredcar.com/stanmeyer.html ). Stan was an American inventor/innovator who even went to NASA to promote his water fuel technology. Sadly, he never made it to the big league due to obvious reasons. However, so many enthusiasts and hobbyists out there (including me) has found this technology so intriguing and worthwhile that it has become an underground (not so) movement to push this technology further especially nowadays that Oil prices has skyrocketed and the economy has gone so bad.

What skeptics out there cant seem to understand is how simple (really) the process is to generate the HHO gas from a typical electronic amplifier (coupled with a tone/frequency generator) or even just a simple battery charger. I would recommend using a 12 volt power supply whose output frequency can be “tuned” for optimal HHO output. I have tested it with a simple amplifier power supply and it generates a modest HHO output. Increasing the current however tends to heat up the container so caution must be taken when testing it. An efficient design should not generate excessive or even no heat at all. Our target is to make sure all (almost) the energy used in powering up the HHO generator would be used to convert the water to HHO, thus heat will be negligible.

So again, we hope to see something similar to these HHO gadgets on the market soon, and I really mean soon if we really want our economy to get back on its feet. Let’s set aside out political motives and interests and let’s learn to love our country and our fellow people who are in great need in these troubled times.

God bless us all!!
